KUWL SUSTAINABLE AMERICAS (KSA), Guyana
Kuwl Sustainable Americas (KSA) is a privately owned not-for-profit production and free training facility located 14 miles south of Mabaruma, Guyana, South America. The unique word "kuwl" (pronounced "cool") is a Hebrew word that is used in the Bible to represent the way God's (YHWH) love sustains us. We believe that God has designed an intelligent people and planet, and with His help, the resources are available to sustain us. The first phase, the production facility, has begun. We have acquired 100 acres of land and have shipped a 40' container from the USA with necessary equipment.
KSA's fish, poultry, and plant production facility will generate the funds that make the free training possible. The production facility will be managed by KSA, and staffed by our students. KSA is the first ever international free training center that focuses on teaching what we practice; eco-friendly self-sustainability. The free training center will support 30 resident students, housed on campus, and 10 local day students. Students stay for 1 and 2 semesters of training depending on there level of desired education. Students are required to participate in class work and field work (hands-on real experience in KSA production facility) to not only become educated mentally, but gain invaluable real-world experience. With these acquired real-world skills, we believe our graduates success rate when they leave KSA will be near 100%!
Mabaruma, Guyana is located in the NW corner of Guyana, Region 1. Travel from the capital city, Georgetown, can be accomplished by a 45 min airplane ride, once daily, from Ogle municipal airfield, Georgetown, to Broomes Airfield, Mabaruma. Additionally, a government supply ship, the Kimba, carries passengers, but on much less frequent schedule. Mabaruma has a relatively mild climate due to its proximity to the Caribbean Sea, and rolling hills. The area is traditionally agrarian, hosting many small farms and villages.
